JobMinder (“the App”) is created and operated by Christiaan de Rover (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your data is handled.

1. Overview

JobMinder is a private, on-device job application tracking app designed to help you record applications, outcomes, and reminders in a calm, non-intrusive way.

Your data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to enable iCloud synchronisation.

We do not collect, sell, or share personal data for advertising or profiling purposes.

The App uses a small number of privacy-focused third-party services strictly to enable analytics (TelemetryDeck), subscriptions and purchases (RevenueCat), and optional iCloud synchronisation. We only collect what is necessary for the App to function.

2. Data You Create

The following data is stored locally on your device and optionally in your private iCloud storage if sync is enabled:

  • Job applications and associated details
  • Application events (interviews, contact attempts)
  • Closure outcomes (including “No response”)
  • Private experience markers
  • Optional reminder settings
  • App preferences and settings
  • Optional profile name (stored locally)

This data is never sent to us or any third party. Only you (and Apple, via iCloud if enabled) can access it.

3. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud, your data is synced using Apple’s CloudKit and stored in your private iCloud container. We cannot access, read, or modify your iCloud data.

Syncing is encrypted in transit and at rest. Turning off iCloud keeps all data local on your device.

JobMinder supports switching between local-only and iCloud-backed storage, with clear user control.

4. Analytics (TelemetryDeck)

To help us understand how the App is used and improve it, JobMinder uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service.

  • Does not collect personal data
  • Does not store names, email addresses, contacts, or identifiers
  • Does not track you across apps or websites
  • Uses anonymous, salted hashing to avoid identifying users

Only anonymous, non-sensitive signals may be sent, such as:

  • App launches and first-run completion
  • Screen views (Dashboard, Applications, Settings)
  • Feature usage (adding or closing applications, enabling reminders)
  • Paywall impressions and purchase-related actions

No job details, company names, notes, or personal content are ever transmitted. TelemetryDeck respects Apple’s privacy settings.

5. Purchases & Subscriptions (RevenueCat)

RevenueCat manages JobMinder Pro subscriptions.

RevenueCat receives only an anonymised app user ID and subscription status related to JobMinder. It does not receive any job application data, text you enter into the App, personal identifiers, or financial information. Apple handles all payments.

6. No Ads, No Tracking, No Selling of Data

JobMinder does not include advertising, does not sell or rent personal data, does not share data with advertisers, does not use tracking identifiers, and does not perform behavioural profiling.

Your job application history remains private and under your control.

7. Notifications

If you enable reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content is sent to us. Notifications are automatically cancelled when applications are closed or reopened.

You can disable reminders at any time via the App or system settings.

8. Data Retention

All your JobMinder data is stored until you delete it. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. iCloud-stored data may remain in your iCloud account until manually removed.

We do not retain copies of your data.

9. Children’s Privacy

JobMinder is not intended for children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data about children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as JobMinder evolves. The most recent version will always be available via the App and on this website.
